Junna Maruyama 丸山纯奈 "Ice Queen"

Junna is currently rising in the contemporary Japanese art scene as a promising pop-surrealist young artist thanks to her artworks characterised by magical symbology and kaleidoscopic palettes. Junna’s language is extremely feminine, exploring fairy tales with her elaborate and evocative painting which represents hybrid elf-eyed female creatures, presenting animal features. 

"Ice Queen" is her latest work released in Nov.2020. Junna uses gems and lace to create delicate layers.  It is not only a painting, but a fairytale - a sleeping girl wearing an ice crown.
